He always contemplating a trade first by looking at the overall long term picture. Then he relies heavily on support/resistance levels from intermediate trends. He also strongly believe in trading in a demo account for months to test strategies. Some of his simple strategies includes:

1. Weekly position trades time frame, look for bullish/bearish engulfing at support/resistance.

2. Daily swing trades time frame, long/short after engulfing candle at support/resistance retracement.

3. Intraday scalping trades hourly time frame. Watch out for news calendar and be a trend follower at the right moment.

Really just some basic and simple ideas and nothing revealing. Perhaps that is the biggest takeaway from this book and I quote “it took me years to become profitable in my trading, simplicity was a powerful and and invaluable tool.”

The author probably took less than a day to compile and organised some of the ideas in this book into words. This book is really just a slightly longer version of a blogpost. You can probably read finish this book in less than hour.

“I will not say it’s (trading) easy; it’s actually quite difficult, especially because your biggest enemy in this war is not the other traders or the big banks or even the brokers, it is yourself.”

I’ve been trading forex for far longer than the author but I’m always looking for new ideas. I didn’t get any from this book but that is not to say that the concepts are poor or ill thought out. However, for someone inexperienced or venturing into forex for the first time, this book is quite worthwhile.

I’ve always contemplated dabbling into forex trading, but was scared of the strange-looking graphs. This book has demystified forex for me. I liked the way the author personalised the information with his own stories, making the book more enjoyable and giving it a human feel. My best part is the “scalping” technique because it involves less risk and will be perfect for a beginner like me. The 6 steps to profit were simple and straight forward. Overall, a very good resource.

Great book!

Read:  What Is the Average Profit in Forex Trading

Great ideas for building a trading plan and getting organized. I specifically like the part about position sizing being the “Holy Grail”. Also the war analogy of Napoleon when it comes to trading. This book is great and will be my guide for building a trading plan and staying consistent.

A small amount of useful information… But..

Sorry, but I really struggled to finish this book. I almost gave up after reading the first couple of pages. Grammar, spelling and punctuation are all equally atrocious, making for a VERY difficult read!!! This book is screaming out for a good editor..

Straight Foreward

No Frills, but a realistic look at trading. I liked it. he gives you a fe simple strategies, but concentrates the important parts: risk management, psychology, trade planning. A good quick read about Forex, and I liked his swing strategy.

Amazing book to help you understand the experiences of someone that sounds legit over their trading journey. And in addition, it is a short read so you lose very little while reading it.

It must be said, you have very little to gain too because it is not a book on understanding the markets.

This book was a great read and it’s for anybody that’s interested in learning forex market. He gave you idea though I still believe believe that people should do additional research and read more books but this is a great start.

Ignore the grammer

This book has typos and awkward phrasing throughout, something I normally find offputting, but the substance of this book is worth getting past it.

A Blueprint for Profitable Forex Trading

The Black Book of Forex Trading sheds light on the industry. Author Paul Langer shares his story as a trader. There are sure many folks out there with a similar experience. He shares three trading strategies. He also shows how to create a trading plan and a blueprint to become a profitable trader.

Some good info

The book does have some good information on structuring your trading strategy before introducing real money. The book did give me some insight as a novice trader on rookie mistakes. It should be compounded with other books to truly benefit from this guys story. One book will not make you a successful forex trader but it could be useful to your arsenal.

Ricardo Carreno

Informative!

I appreciate the knowledge provided by this book. I read it twice. It is good for beginners and intermediate traders.
