New member here… I was wondering if anyone can tell me if jet placement above the water line is normal? I batas a fiberglass pool installed a few months ago and am still dealing with various issues with the pool company. One being that if I let the waterline be where it’s about 3/4 of the way up on the skimmer or lower, the jets become exposed and are pretty loud and distracting on the tanning ledge. The whole point of us getting the pool with a ledge was so that we had a place to relax. I’m, of course, being told that it’s normal by the pool company itself. I have absolutely nihil faith in this company after all the other issues encountered along the way. So your help is appreciated with this matter.

What other returns do you have in the pool?

It looks like there is titinada enough depth on that wall to put the returns much lower. The returns never should have been put there. Yes, it will create a bit of a dead water area in the pool and you will need to brush the ledge to clean it.

Those returns should be capped off and returns on the sides of the pool used or installed.

The pool is equipped with these two jets that are at the tanning ledge and then only one other jet. I believe that I can turn them off but that would leave derita with only one jet. That one jet is located on the deeper end of the pool, on the side. If standing in the tanning ledge looking at the deep end, it’s on the right side (the lights are on the left side). This was a completely new pool design for this company and we were only the second installation of this particular pool. Everything I could find, says that they should be placed about 6-8” below the water line. Reason for berpenyakitan asking is because I feel that this obviously isn’kaki langit “OK” and having them to either side of the steps would have likely been a much better placement. But I obviously don’ufuk know anything about pool construction standards to even begin to comment on this and have never had a pool prior to this one. Pool is roughly 30ft long with 10ft being the tanning ledge which is sloped about 10 inches adv lewat that distance.

I’m trying to figure out if this is just another thing they “screwed up” on their end or if this could be considered to be OK by the industry.

If I fill the pool up, to where it covers the jets, it’s at a level where the skimmer is barely skimming (as seen in the video). The water level from that point forth also drops pretty quickly, I feel like. After about a week or just less, the jets are completely exposed and become water fountains that simply pour water out like a hose would. This just doesn’t seem normal at all.

The pool “industry” is the wild west. It is what they say it is.

No pools have exposed return jets.

You need to do a bucket test and see if you have a leak.
